Comparison of Modern Gospel Tract versus Biblical Gospel Tract

Interesting Comparison of a Biblical Gospel Tract versus a modern Christianity Gospel Tract.

I thought it would be interesting to see a modern christianity tract go head to head against a biblical tract. Here goes. The theme I found was myspace. Let's compare the covers.

myspace

First Impressions: Death, the most important issue to mankind is death. What happens to you when you die, isn't that incredibly more important a discussion of social networking sites?

Myspace

First Impressions: No big deal, there's no real urgency to read the tract, it almost looks like a myspace advertisment pamphlet.

Tract Text for modern christianity gospel.

Are you using MySpace or Xanga to find friends, acceptance, and possibly even love? Many people spend massive amounts of time each day in these online communities, meeting new friends, finding the hottest party or club in their area, or just looking for someone to talk to.

WHAT'S THE ATTRACTION?

Why are so many people seeking this new kind of intimacy? Sure, it's fun to post a blog, address a forum, and build your own personal “Me” page for the entire world to see. We are all looking for acceptance and fulfillment through our relationships…but why?

God created us for relationships, both with others and with Himself. His perfect design was for Adam and Eve to experience unconditional acceptance, complete intimacy, and unreserved love with each other. This kind of love was also meant for you, but that ideal fell apart when Adam and Eve decided they should live without God. Sin and selfishness were born, and interpersonal relationships have gone downhill ever since.

Can you really have intimacy alone in your room, with nothing but a keyboard and mouse, conversing with a total stranger? This was never God's intention for you. Even in the best of online friendships...you must admit there's still something missing.

Editor's Note: Yikes. Talk about scary, that ultimate, something missing, void in your heart, etc. Did Christ come to deal with your lack of friends, social interaction, or even deep social interaction. No. He came to save you from the wrath of almighty God. Yet, they dance around the issue that must come up, sin, death, and judgment.

HIS SPACE

God wants you to know the acceptance, intimacy, and love He originally designed, but you have to overcome a big hurdle first. Just like Adam and Eve, our choice to live our lives without God blocks us from the greatest relationship we could ever know, the one God wants to have with us. Imagine how vibrant life would be if you were finally connected to the good Creator you never knew or believed existed.

The Bible, which is God's “communication” to us, states that we can never overcome this gap caused by sin on our own. We can never be good enough to earn God's favor and restore that first love as He created it. The penalty we owe God because of our sin and rebellion against Him is simply too much to pay. Death. (Now there's a pleasant thought!)

But the great news is that God loves us so intensely that He has already provided our payment. When God sent His Son Jesus to earth, the ultimate purpose of Jesus was to die in our place and open the door for us to return to God…if we so choose. He died for our sins, then overcame our final enemy, death, so that we can have eternal life too. (Now there is a pleasant thought!)

The life He offers during our time on earth is nothing short of transforming. A lifetime of relating to Him will bring great peace and clarity along the way. As with any relationship, this one offers the opportunity for dialogue and understanding. God's heart has been opened to us in the pages of the Bible, and we can freely communicate with Him through prayer. Many good churches are built on these truths and stand ready to help, as well as offer you some astounding friendships with other “Christ-followers” who are also finding their way.

Your sins are the roadblock between you and your God. That's why he doesn't answer your prayers or let you see his face. Isaiah 59:2

And in addition to everything else, we are happy because God sent our Lord Jesus Christ to make peace with us. Adam sinned, and that sin brought death into the world. Now everyone has sinned, and so everyone must die. Romans 5:11-12

Editor's Note: If this doesn't make people think sin isn't a big deal, I don't know what will. It's like the Christian is pandering to young people saying, oh, won't you please, pretty please give Jesus a try? He doesn't condemn you, just love you and fill you with happiness. In the above paragraphs, the author of this tract makes the sacrifice Christ paid on the cross seem pathetic, like God messed up plan A and had to make a new plan, plan B. I can't help but be sorrowful over just how powerless and unsovereign Christians have made their God. But, maybe they like him that way. I love how they use the word, Christ-followers, it's like the author knows there are millions of false converts out there perverting God's Word and being hypocrites, so instead of calling the Christians, Christians, he calls them Christ-followers so there's an excuse for all the born-again backstabbers.

Here is a short group of Bible verses explaining these thoughts. If you believe these concepts, as well as the idea that Jesus is God and that He died and arose again for you, the original relationship God intended for you is restored. Many like to acknowledge this commitment in a prayer. It's not the prayer that makes you right with God. It's your trust in Jesus Christ as your Savior.

God loved the people of this world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who has faith in him will have eternal life and never really die. John 3:16

Christ died once for our sins. An innocent person died for those who are guilty. Christ did this to bring you to God, when his body was put to death and his spirit was made alive. 1 Peter 3:18

Dear God,

I know I've sought love and affirmation in people and places apart from You and have been living with a worldview that has not included You. For these I am sorry, and I honestly repent of my sin. I acknowledge You now as my Creator and the lover of my soul. I believe that out of your intense love for me You sent Your only Son, Jesus, and sacrificed Him in my place. I also believe He triumphed over death and rose again, and that He will bring me to heaven with You for all eternity. In His name I thank You God. I look forward to knowing You more intimately with each new day. Amen.

Editor's Note: While, I do give them credit for saying it's the faith that saves, however, they didn't define repentance. No teenager knows what repentance means anymore. I honestly hate the translation of John 3:16, what, teenagers can't read the original version and understand it, but instead they just water it down into the pathetic modern language. Again, it seems we have totally lost the power of the gospel, choosing instead the sad, sickened, perverted versions of a pandering God who seems to only love and never get angry. Baloney Sandwich. Where's Judgment Day? Where is the specific definition of sin? What about Hell?!? Hell is not even mentioned. Maybe the people who wrote this tract don't believe in it.

What happens to your myspace when you die? Who knows! Here's another question what will happen to you when you die? What if entry to Heaven were based on how many friends you had on myspace? What if you needed 200 friends? What about 1000? The Bible says it's appointed once for man to die, then comes Judgment. Will you be innocent or guilty? The way to find out is to ask yourself if you've kept the 10 Commandments. Have you ever lied? (9th Commandment) Have you ever stolen? (8th)  Using God's name casually or to swear is blasphemy & breaks the 3rd commandment. Sin is breaking God's Law - How'd you do? Are you a sinner? Heaven or Hell? The Bible warns that if we die in our sins, we'll end up in Hell. But God doesn't want that. God demonstrates His love towards us in that while we were yet sinners  Jesus Christ suffered & died on the Cross, then He rose from the dead. You broke the Law & Jesus paid the fine. You can't earn your way to Heaven by doing good things (Ephesians 2:8-9) but if you repent (confess & give up your sins) and trust in Jesus alone, God will forgive you & grant you the gift of eternal life. God's offer is similar to a 'friend request' in that you can accept or reject it. -- You received this card from someone that wants you to go to Heaven.  Please seriously consider your eternal destiny. Start reading the Bible every day & obey what you read. Thank you for reading this.   Visit: www.YouGotOurTract.com

Editor's Note: Full gospel. This is the Biblical gospel, there is no pandering God, but a God of justice and love. I love this quote, can't remember where I heard it, because His wrath is real, God's mercy shown through Christ's sacrifice is relevant to you. Excellent.

"And we ourselves are 'saved to save'-we are made to give-to let everything go if only we may have more to give. The pebble takes in all the rays of light that fall on it, but the diamond flashes them out again; every little facet is a means, not simply of drinking more in, but of giving more out." -Lillias Trotter
